21-911-400 Strainer

Mueller 21-911-400 is a mechanical joint (MJ) retainer gland with integral restraint designed for use in waterworks and sewer piping systems on 4.00″ pipe (nominal); it replaces the standard MJ gland and provides both sealing and positive pipe restraint by using wedge-type gripping elements that secure the pipe within a ductile iron or PVC MJ fitting, preventing pull-out under internal pressure without the need for thrust blocks, making it ideal for buried distribution mains and service connections where dependable restrained joints are required.
